TANGERANG – A 500-tree planting event at Sodong Village’s agritourism area concluded Korindo Group’s celebration for the 2026 World Environment Day. Earlier, similar initiatives had been rolled out in other locations, spearheaded by the Group’s subsidiaries.

These locations included the operational areas of each subsidiary, zones designated for rehabilitation (with planting done in collaboration with local governments), as well as places outside Korindo Group’s territories. Around thousands of seedlings were planted, including those of eucalyptus, mangrove, and multiple fruit species.

Korindo Foundation’s Secretary-General, Sunghoon Lee, said on Wednesday (7/15/2026) that this celebration aims to cultivate healthier, more sustainable environments rather than be purely symbolic.

It also shows that Korindo Group is maintaining its commitment to nature preservation.

“Planting trees isn’t just about increasing green spaces. Every tree creates a healthier environment,” Lee stated. “Collaborations like this one are integral to achieving sustainable neighborhoods that benefit our children and grandchildren. The small steps we take today will make a difference for the future.”

This year, Korindo Group embeds the spirit of World Environment Day in its eco-actions, which help the company strengthen its contributions to climate resilience, curb the impacts of pollution, and safeguard local biodiversity through sustainable means.

Besides improving the environment, the planting events encourage climate mitigation across the organization, with measures tailored to the characteristics of each location.

Through these initiatives, Korindo Group emphasizes that nature preservation is a collective responsibility met through concrete actions.

The company hopes that every seedling it plants will grow to offer ecological benefits, and demonstrate its promise to create greener and healthier spaces for future generations. (PR)
