JAKARTA – Korindo Foundation has continued its funding of farming activities at Kampung Susun Bayam, Tanjung Priok (North Jakarta) under the Korindo Green Sponsorship program. The money was presented in cash to local farmer group Kampung Bayam Madani on Wednesday (9/9/2026).

This decision came to be due to the farm’s progress last year, said Setiyono, the Foundation’s general manager. Tremendous enthusiasm and good handling of funds were mentioned as strong reasons for the program’s extension.

“Today, we’re back to support [community-led] social and greening initiatives with the Green Sponsorship program. Over the past year, we’ve seen tremendous enthusiasm from all of you here…Our assessment of your progress also showed great results, and we noticed good handling of resources. That being said, we are thrilled to proceed with the second phase of Green Sponsorship.”

Setiyono hoped the financial support could usher in greater benefits by assisting farming, greening, and local economic activities.

In fact, it’s had a tangible impact on the group’s operations, said Kampung Bayam Madani leader Muhammad Furqon. His team has now found tackling impeding issues to be much easier.

“Following the aid provision, [we noticed that] meeting [farming] needs has become easier. It greatly helps us with activities and reduces hurdles,” Furqon, as he’s called, added. “The remaining problems are mostly tied to the weather.”

Funds from the program are allocated for priority and day-to-day needs, enabling continuous operations and expansion.

Through this second round of Korindo Green Sponsorship, the Kampung Susun Bayam community is encouraged to protect their environment while creating economically valuable, productive initiatives aimed at reinforcing self-reliance and bringing long-term benefits. (PR)
