BOGOR – On Thursday (8/29), Korindo Foundation, Aspex Kumbong, and Bogor Regency Environmental Service signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Pondok Rajeg City Forest expansion at the office of Bogor Regency Environmental Service.

From an initial size of 3 hectares, this urban forest by Korindo Foundation is set to grow by another 1.2 hectares under a stronger partnership with the Environmental Service.

Participating in the signing were Korindo Foundation’s General Secretary Lee Sunghoon, Aspex Kumbong’s Director Seyong Jung, and Bogor Regency Environmental Service’s Acting Leader Teuku Mulya. This ceremony is part of Korindo Foundation’s Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) initiatives, which promote environmental preservation and enhance urban green spaces.

In his speech, Mulya praised the Foundation for its robust support for state environmental programs. He expected this project to proceed smoothly and benefit current and future generations.

“I’m pleased to see the Pondok Rajeg City Forest flourishing with greenery. There are no traces of it being a dumpsite. Onwards, [we ensure to] expand this [preservation] program in line with our Regent’s directive and the greening movement it promotes.”

Similar words of appreciation were shared by Lee, who then reiterated Korindo Group’s commitment to endorsing greening and environmental stewardship initiatives.

“We hope this project marks the beginning of a lasting partnership. [If necessary,] we would also like to further support environmental management efforts through our scalable hazardous waste treatment facility,” Lee offered.

The MoU thus cemented an agreement between Korindo Foundation, Aspex Kumbong, and the Bogor Regency Environmental Service that strengthens the joint utilization, management, and maintenance of Pondok Rajeg City Forest. These works deliver long-term environmental and social benefits for surrounding communities. (PR)
